In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1) شروع الله کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے (۱) سب تعريفيں الله ہی کولایق ہیں جومربّی ہیں ہر ہرعالم کے۔ (۲) جو بڑے مہربان نہایت رحم والے ہیں۔ (۳) جو مالک ہیں روزِ جزاکے۔ (۴) ہم آپ ہی کی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور آپ ہی سے درخواست اعانت کی کرتے ہیں۔ (۵) بتلادیجیئےہم کو رستہ سیدها۔ (۶) رستہ اُن لوگوں کا جن پر آپ نے انعام فرمایا ہے۔ نہ(رستہ) ان لوگوں کا جن پر آپ کا غضب کیا گیا اور نہ ان لوگوں کا جو(رستہ سے)گم ہوگئے۔ (۷) Anytime a Muslim is making a decision, he or she should seek Allah’s guidance and wisdom. Allah alone knows what is best for us, and there may be good in what we perceive as bad, and bad in what we perceive as good.
Salat al-Istikhara is a powerful tool that Allah has given us to ask His guidance in all matters. We should not hesitate to pray Istikhara before making any choice in our lives, big or small.
After a long and hectic day at work, how difficult it is for a tired person to stand on the prayer-mat and concentrate on his prayers to Allah Almighty. Snuggled in a warm and cosy bed, how difficult it is to get up at the call of Mu’adlulhin: “Come to prayer, come to success.” The famous doctor and philosopher Ibn Sina (Avicenna), recalls such a moment in his life. One cold and icy night, he and his slave were resting in an inn in a remote part of Khurasan. During the night he felt thirsty and shouted out to his slave to get him some water. The slave had no desire to leave his warm bed, so he pretended not to hear Avicenna’s call. But finally after repeated calls he reluctantly got up and went to fetch the water. A little while later, the melodious sound of the Adhan filled the air. Avicenna began to think about the person calling the believers to prayer. My slave Abdullah, he mused, has always respected and admired me. He seizes any opportunity to lavish praise and affection on me but tonight, he preferred his own comfort to my needs. On the other hand, look at this Persian slave of Allah. He left his warm bed to go out in the chilly night, he made ablution in the icy water of the stream, and then he ascended the high minaret of the mosque to glorify He Whom he truly serves.
Death
Death occurs when the soul separates from the human body and enters the realm of 'Barzakh', which is the period between one's death and the Hereafter. Appearing of the Angels (a) The Believing Soul: Angels with faces shining bright like the sun descend from the Heavens, carrying a shroud and fragrance of Paradise and sit away from him as far as the eye can see. The Angel of Death then approaches and says: "O good soul, come out to Allah's forgiveness and pleasure." The soul then comes out as gently as a drop from a water-skin, and he seizes it. Within the blinking of an eye, the other Angels take the soul and put it in the shroud and fragrance. There will then come from the soul, a fragrance like that of the sweetest musk found on the face of Earth. |
